Dan Gilvezan shot down.
Dan Gilvezan, known for voicing G1 Bumblebee, Hot Spot, Goldbug, and Snapdragon, has confirmed that he has not been approached with any roles involving Transformers as rumored. In an interview with 2d-x.com, he said: “I was not, and I think one of the reasons is, my Bumblebee (a Volkswagon) no longer exists. I’ve heard it had to do with not being able to get the rights from VW. So the new Bumblebee is a Camaro and I think they just wanted to distance themselves from the old incarnation”. This could mean any chances of Bumblebee resembling his original incarnation are very low for any shows in the near future, due to the popularity of Michael Bay’s Bumblebee as a Camaro and how it’s easily recognized by newer fans of Transformers.
